Lent and Easter
AT TUMC AUSTIN
What do Christians really mean when we say, “I believe”? During this Lenten season, we will journey together through the Apostles’ Creed, one of the oldest and most enduring summaries of the Christian faith. Each week, we will linger with a different affirmation of belief—not as abstract doctrine, but as a living confession meant to shape our lives, our worship, and our witness in the world.
Beginning with our trust in God the Creator, we will explore the life and saving work of Jesus Christ, the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, and the meaning of the Church and the communion of saints. Along the way, we will wrestle with grace and forgiveness, naming both our need for mercy and God’s promise to restore us. On Easter Sunday, our journey culminates in the heart of Christian hope: the resurrection of the dead and life everlasting.
Lent is a season for reflection, repentance, and renewal. This series invites us to reclaim the words we often recite, to ask what they truly mean, and to boldly claim them again—not only with our lips, but with our lives. This is our story. This is our faith. This we believe.
